How should I prepare for my first treatment?
You will need to fill in the health history form before you arrive. It will be sent to you by email once you book your appointment.
If you can't do it ahead we do have a paper form in the clinic or we can provide you with an IPAD to complete it electronically. This will require more time, so you will need to arrive 15-20 minutes early. We don't want you to lose time on the table.

Do you offer direct billing to Insurance?
We are set up to direct bill with Blue Cross, Green Shield/Provider Connect & the Telus Portal, which is comprised of over 23 different companies. You can fill in the direct billing form HERE to see if you are eligible, or email us to discuss details. ottawa@myobalance.ca
What should I expect from my first massage treatment?
Please arrive 10 minutes before your first appointment. This will allow time to discuss your health history and customize a treatment plan for your current needs. Arriving on time means we get you on the table on time so you get the hands on work you booked in for. After the intake, the technique and approach will be explained and we will begin your massage. We will communicate throughout the massage to make sure you are comfortable with the pressure.
Is there parking close to the clinic?
Yes there is ample parking close to the clinic and clients never seem to have a problem finding a spot! If you didn't walk, cycle or take public transit then you'll want to check out the parking options below.

There is paid street parking on Clarence, Murray and Parent, all under a 5 minute walk.

What is your gift card, cancellation & missed appointment policy?
BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT: A credit card is now required to reserve your spot. It will be stored in your file in our secure system. The online booking system will prompt you at your first booking, next booking or we will ask you if you book in person. Nothing will be charged to this card unless you don't show up for your massage or cancel with less then 24 hours notice. We will contact you by email before the charge so you are aware of the exact amount and a receipt will be provided. By proceeding with the booking you are agreeing to our booking, cancellation and missed appointment policies. Please read the details below.
We are a busy clinic and require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment as the time you booked is not available to other clients. If your appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged the following Fee Schedule and/or gift card will be void. If you do not show up for your appointment you will be charged the full fee for service booked.

Less Then 24 Hours Notice Fee Schedule: 30 minutes $60 ~ 45 minutes $77 ~ 60 minutes $95 ~ 75 minutes $110 ~ 90 minutes $129 Plus HST

*** SICK CANCELLATION POLICY WITH LESS THEN 24 HOURS NOTICE **** We kindly ask that you inform as soon as you feel unwell, ideally with 24 hours notice so we can cancel your appointment and fill the spot. With less than 24 hours notice we now have a sick fee schedule, which I think you will find is fair.
Please email us and discretion will be used depending on the circumstances. This policy is new due to an overwhelming increase in late sick cancellations. Missed appointments with no notice will still be subject to full fee of service booked.

ARRIVING LATE: We will do our best to give you as much of the time that you have booked but the charge will be for the amount of time that you booked in for even if you show up late.

Please contact us by EMAIL to cancel your appointment as this is monitored at all times. If you don't have access to email please text us at 613.882 8205, but email is ideal. To avoid you having to pay fees for late/sick cancellations note we will do our best to fill your spot with another client whenever possible. Please note this will be at our discretion.

While we understand that "life does happen" and sometimes appointments are forgotten, there is crazy traffic or that meeting comes up, you must understand we suffer income loss due to missed appointments and/or last minute cancellations. We remind clients of their appointments by first sending a confirmation email upon booking followed by a reminder email two days ahead of the scheduled appointment and lastly a text message two hours before your set time (if you have provided a mobile number).
Please be advised missed/late/sick cancellation fees can't be billed to insurance companies.
Your card on file will be charged for the fee owing.

Gift Card Policy Insurance companies do not reimburse for treatments paid by gift card. The receipt you receive for a massage paid by a gift card will read; "gift card redeemed" as per policy by our college. For more from the CMTO click here.
What method of payment do you accept?
We do not accept cash and we do not keep a float on site to make change.
We only accept e-transfer, debit and credit cards.
